Well done to Jane on finding the bird of the day, a petrel of one flavour or another. If that sounds a bit vague to be bird of the day, then I’ve not been clear and it was the only bird of the day.
We did have a couple of encounters with whales. The first ones had a large straight blow, and I’m guessing they were Fin Whales. The second group had a distinctive angled blow so were presumably Sperm Whales. We also saw more flying fish than yesterday, in groups of up to 20 or so.
The title references the fact that plans for the cruise have drastically changed. Instead of a two day stopover in Bermuda we will swerve Hurricane Tammy and track further north-west more slowly, with a one day stop in Nova Scotia. It’s fair to say that whilst just about everyone onboard would have preferred the original itinerary it has gone done least well with the Canadians and some of the Americans onboard.
Today we went up in the North Star, which is basically a pod lifted high above the ship to give a panoramic aerial view. A couple of pictures are attached, the first one is mine including reflection of a fellow passenger. The second one is Royal Caribbeans promotional material, so can I just say what an excellent experience this is for the thrill seeking cruise passenger.

Unfortunately we didn’t manage any images of the whales today, but with the extra sea day there are future opportunities. So to finish here’s something the P1000 is always good for, a shot of tonight’s moon.
